“Avalon” 1958 – 30′ Dragon Class Racing Sloop

Varnished larch planking on steam-bent white oak stem, keelson, deadwood & floor timbres. Varnished mahogany superstructure & transom. Oiled teak Decks. Cast iron keel. Varnished Sitka spruce mast & boom. “Avalon” comes equipped with newer sails, sail cover, Bartels genoa furling system, a 55 lb. Minn-Kota (side mount) electric motor, a tandem axle trailer (with tongue extension), good gear & rigging, etc.

“Avalon” (originally “Argo III”) was raced extensively at Toronto’s Royal Canadian Yacht Club winning many international and club regattas. She won the Canadian Olympic trials for the 1972 Olympics in Germany.

She has been recently restored and refinished at Woodwind Yachts to excellent condition, including new teak decks. She is currently resting comfortably inside one of our storage buildings, awaiting a good new owner.
