as she was found laying inside a storage building.

The
exterior paint is stripped to reveal the extent of the repairs required.

Several
areas of the hull and the chines required renewal. Repairs are difficult
on a curved plywood vessel of this type, with very few frames to fasten
to.
|

The
decks and interior are removed and wooden "wedges" are epoxy
glued into all of the fastener holes. Everything will be re-drilled
into "fresh" wood.

The
vessel's interior is being stripped for a complete refinish.

Varnish
and paint have been applied to the interior. The hull has been repaired,
epoxied and primed at this stage.

The
new decks have been made, the undersides varnished prior to installation,
and are shown here being permanently installed.

This
photograph shows the forward "upper" deck framework being
built. The accented curved upper decks are difficult to build and
install, and must be made to fit the hardware exactly.

The
hull has been painted and the decks varnished as she was originally.
Here, Stan is carefully bending and mounting the hardware to fit properly.
